In her own words, presenter Barbara Schöneberger has a knack for plants. “I have a very green thumb. I’m close to self-sufficiency, I would say,” the 50-year-old told the German Press Agency.
She spends a lot of time in Sweden and grows everything from lettuce, tomatoes, apples, berries to potatoes. She also keeps chickens and home-bred cattle. “My goal is to be able to live independently and self-sufficiently at some point. I’m no longer drawn to the big city. I’ll do that for a while and then I’ll be gone.”
Although she still lives in Berlin and takes part in big city life, her imagination is more towards country life, said Schöneberger. “I think it’s also a question of age and everyone’s imagination turns towards the country at some point because at some point they’ve experienced enough queues of people, overcrowded train stations and delayed flights.”
In the new edition of the television show “Do you understand fun?” On Saturday evening (8:15 p.m.) on the first, Schöneberger takes on the role of a botany professor, among other things.
