Germany is sweating and it has the country under control. During the day you can cool off with a dip in a swimming lake or an ice cream. At night, however, many currently struggle with sleep problems. However, there are some tips on how to make the nights a little more relaxing.

  1. It is best to ventilate the bedroom early in the morning. During the day it is advisable to close the windows and draw shutters or curtains.
  2. Instead of beer or other ice-cold drinks, warm herbal tea should be drunk in the evening. Then the body does not have to use any energy to bring the drink to body temperature.
  3. It can be pleasant to take a lukewarm shower right before bed. It is refreshing to hold your wrists under cool water afterwards.
  4. Sleepwear made of cotton, linen, or silk can be put in the refrigerator two hours before going to bed. If you put it on right before going to bed, it will be nice and cool.
  5. A damp rag on your forehead cools your head and may make sleep easier. One should be careful with air conditioners or fans. There is a risk of tension or even a cold.
  6. It can also be helpful to hang a wet sheet on the open window. It removes heat from the environment through evaporation, and the air cools down. If you take these tips to heart, you should be able to sleep better in the heat.
