Angelique Kerber became a mother for the first time a year ago. The tennis player now deals with defeats completely differently.
After returning from her baby break, Angelique Kerber is trying to enjoy her appearances on the tennis court more. “Of course I still go out there to play my best tennis, but if I lose now I’ll go back to the hotel and see the little one. So I’ve got about an hour to be a bit mad, but then that’s it OK,” the former Wimbledon winner told “Freundin” magazine.
Kerber became a mother for the first time a year ago and has been back on the tennis tour since the beginning of the year. At the United Cup before the Australian Open she won against Ajla Tomljanovic from Australia, but was then eliminated in the first round of the first major. “I now live like I have two personalities: the mother with all the challenges and the tennis player who has to withstand the pressure. It takes time to get used to it. And if you have a good organization, the day is fine,” said Kerber.
