Singer Lizzo hinted at the supposed end of her music career in a post. Now she contradicts these interpretations.

Lizzo (35) clears up the rumors about an alleged end to her career. In a new Instagram post, the singer explains that she is not retiring from the music business as some fans suspected. “I wanted to make this video to make it clear that when I say ‘I stop,’ what I mean is that I stop paying attention to negative energy,” the clip says.

“What I won’t give up is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting with people,” continues Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson. She wants to continue to spread inspiration and motivation and fight against negative people and comments. “I know I’m not alone. I’m definitely not the only person who experiences this negative voice that’s louder than the positive one,” she tells her 12 million followers. The American will carry on and remain herself, she emphasizes.

A post by the singer caused speculation

Last Friday (March 29th) a post by the musician caused a stir. In it she explained that she no longer felt welcome. “I am constantly faced with lies being told about me for attention. I am always the target of ridicule because of my appearance,” she explained. She ended the post on social media with “I quit”. Since the summer of 2023, Lizzo has been faced with serious allegations. Three of her former backup dancers have filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the pop star.
