“Bourne” actress Julia Stiles already has a six- and a two-year-old son with her husband and has now had a third child. Good training for a different challenge, she says.
US actress Julia Stiles (43, “Bourne”) says she has her hands full as a mother of three children and with a new film project. “I’m a bundle of emotions because I have a five-month-old baby and I’m directing my first movie,” Stiles, who also has a six-year-old and a two-year-old son with her husband Preston Cook, told The New York Times”. She did not reveal the gender of her third child.
She thinks caring for children is “really good training for being a director,” Stiles explained. “You have to think 10 steps ahead, but also be in the here and now. You have to have good time management. You have to be sensitive to people’s needs and guide them, but also maintain boundaries.”
Stiles, who is known to many from her roles in romances such as “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999) and later played CIA agent Nicky Parsons in the action series “Bourne”, was responsible for the film adaptation of the novel “Wish You Were Here” by Renée Carlino behind the camera for the first time. “I’m on the fence when it comes to sleep,” said Stiles, referring to her new work as a director. “But I feel more energized than ever.”
