Without roast and duck: “Tatort” star Maria Furtwängler and her family consciously forego meat this Christmas.
“Tatort” star Maria Furtwängler (55) gives insights into her Christmas plans in an interview with the magazine “Frau im Spiegel”. Together with her family, the doctor, actress and producer will be completely without meat this year. “We eat purely vegetarian. I’m looking forward to that.” The background to this premiere: you and your children are increasingly vegetarian. “So the majority of us eat meatless. It’s a democratic process. So we have to rethink it.”
Christmas in the mountains
The 55-year-old goes on to celebrate “here in Bavaria in the mountains”. “There is a lot going on there because the whole family comes together. I’m looking forward to spending time with my extended family. One of my brothers comes with his children, my half-brothers come, my stepmother.” The actress has been married to the publisher Hubert Burda (81) since 1991. They have the two children Jacob (31) and Elisabeth (29) together.
“Christmas carols are played, a lot is told, there is a smell of homemade cookies and beeswax candles.” The Christmas tree is decorated “very traditionally and colorfully”, explains Furtwängler.
New “crime scene” for Christmas
On Christmas Day the actress can be seen in her new “Tatort: Everything comes back” (December 26th, 8:15 pm, the first) on TV. Singer Udo Lindenberg (75) is also there.
