Michael J. Fox He assured that he could act again. Despite leaving acting in 2020, Fox, diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 29 in 1991, now says he would consider acting again.
“If someone offers me a role and I do it and have a good time, great”Fox said in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I would go into acting if something came up that I could put my realities, my challenges, into, if I could figure it out.”
The star of Back to the Future and Spin City spoke to the media before a benefit for his Michael J. Fox Foundation.
“My goals are always changing. I think my biggest goal was to start a family. “We have four amazing kids, and that has been the most important thing,” said Fox, who has been married to her co-star from Family Ties, Tracy Pollansince 1988. “And then the other is the work we have done with the foundation and the desire to achieve those goals.”
Michael J. Fox’s reasons for stopping acting
Fox recounted her decision to stop acting in a 2023 interview with Empire. She talked about appearing in two episodes of the spin-off of The Good Wife, The Good Fightin 2020 and about having a hard time remembering his lines.
“I thought about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. There is a scene in which Leonardo DiCaprio’s character no longer remembers his lines. He goes back to his dressing room and yells at himself in the mirror. Just crazy,” Fox told the magazine. “I had a moment where I looked in the mirror and thought, ‘I can’t remember that anymore.’”.
Fox said he told himself, “Well, let’s move on” and that the decision ultimately “was peaceful.” He is now reconsidering things.
