The pop star underwent head surgery in January. He finally wants to go back to the stadium with his son on Friday.
According to his son, pop star Frank Zander (82) wants to appear in public again for the first time around four months after his head operation – at football. “Vadder is doing much better and he will be with me in the stadium on April 12th,” his son Marcus Zander told dpa. This Friday the second division team Hertha BSC will play against Hansa Rostock in Berlin. “It’s actually the first time Vadder has ever appeared in public again.” The entertainer will not sing the Hertha anthem yet. “He’s not fit enough for that. But that’ll come soon,” said Marcus Zander.
His father has been “much, much better” since the beginning of the year. At the end of December, the family announced that Frank Zander had been diagnosed with cerebrospinal fluid buildup. At the beginning of January, the Berlin veteran underwent head surgery. “My parents visited us on Easter Sunday and had a barbecue with the whole family. That was his first “outing” in four months,” said Zander-Junior.
