The film starring Goth continues the events of the 2022 film “X.”
On Monday morning, A24 presented the first trailer for MaXXXinethe long-awaited final entry in his slasher trilogy that unites the writer and director Ti West and the actress Mia Goth. The film is scheduled to release in theaters nationwide on July 5.
In 2022 it was launched “X” with Goth in a double role, as Maxine, a young woman who survives a massacre at the hands of Pearl (also played by her). The next film was precisely “Pearl”a trip to the past telling the origin story of this character.
What MaXXXine is about
MaXXXine reverses the franchise’s trajectory through time to cast Maxine as she continues her journey to fame after the violent events of Night Stalker seeks to turn young Hollywood stars into victims, a trail of blood threatens to reveal Maxine’s sinister past.
The trailer features Kevin Bacon as a private detective hired to find Maxine, and also shows scenes taking place at the Psycho house site on Universal’s studio lot.
The cast of MaXXXine is completed with Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito and the aforementioned Kevin Bacon. MaXXXine is produced by A24, Jacob Jaffke, West, Goth, Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss.
