The news was announced on Friday by Pergolini himself on his program Damn it’s going to be a beautiful daywhere he is accompanied by Dani Jimenez and Nacho Corral. The businessman and driver explained that the reason for the closure is due to an economic issue.

“There, I already set a date. Is that what you wanted?” launched Pergolini and added: “Tuesday the 30th is the last day we broadcast live,” He confirmed, while simulating a bomb explosion with his hands. “Stop it, fuck it!” he exclaimed while insisting that Radio “is dead.”
“The more power, the more light consumption, and we are not willing to assume those oppressive costs,” the presenter explained. In addition, he mentioned that the “traditional” audience, who listens to him through FM, is limited and they are evaluating whether it is really worth continuing.
In 2011, Mario Pergolini left Rock pop after 25 years and started Vorterix, which broadcasts on what was FM Identidad 92.1 (along with businessmen Sergio Szpolski and Matias Garfunkel). This conglomerate not only includes FM radio but also a website where recitals and music are transmitted in HD and a concert hall for 1,500 people at Federico Lacroze and Álvarez Thomas.
Pergolini ruled out that it is “the end” of Vorterix
Faced with doubts about the future of Vorterix as a station, Pergolini responded with a resounding “no” to the possibility of its disappearance.
This opens the door to speculation about a possible change of dial, perhaps towards some of the signals from Grupo Octubre, with whom there is already a strategic alliance for El 9, but from the media group led by Víctor Santamaría, they denied that any of its FM radios (such as Aspen, Like, Mucha Radio or Blackie) becomes the new “traditional” home of Vorterix.
