Maren Kroymann and Götz Alsmann are among twelve cultural workers who were awarded the Federal Cross of Merit by Claudia Roth.
Great honor for Maren Kroymann (74) and Götz Alsmann (66): The two entertainers are among twelve people from the cultural sector who were awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on April 9th. Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth (68) praised the medal holders in a statement as “important role models for the people in our country”. They all have “the vision of bringing politics and civil society together with art and culture.”
In addition to Alsmann and Kroymann, publisher Felicitas von Lovenberg (50), theater director Barrie Kosky (57) and festival curator Beki Probst were honored, among others. The highest German award was presented by Roth in the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.
Maren Kroymann: First woman to have her own satirical show on German TV
Maren Kroymann covers several cultural fields as an actress, cabaret artist and singer. She became known to a large audience alongside Robert Atzorn (79) in the series “Oh God, Herr Pfarrer”. In the cinema she played alongside Hape Kerkeling (59) in “Kein Pardon”. In 1993 she became the first woman to have her own satirical show on German TV, “Nacht Nurse Kroymann”.
Götz Alsmann is also a multi-talent. The Münster native presented on the radio from the mid-1980s. Television was added in the early 1990s. The man with the trademark quiff became known on a large scale in 1996 when he and Christine Westermann (75) produced the cult show “Zimmer frei!” moderated. The multi-instrumentalist remains active as a musician.
