A dark blue dress seems dreary at first glance, but not when there is a radiant Queen Máxima in it.
Queen Máxima (52) proved how refreshing a midnight blue dress can be on Tuesday during an appearance in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The royal fashion queen appeared there to give a speech on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the non-profit organization Nibud, which provides information and advice on financial matters for private households. Máxima’s stylish robe comes – as so often – from Oscar de la Renta.

The dark blue dress with a midi-length skirt and long sleeves was particularly impressive with its white XXL flower applications. The wife of King Willem-Alexander (56) also chose a pair of dark blue pumps and a matching clutch. Sparkling creoles in blue and silver and a ring in the same style were also used. The Dutch queen styled her blonde hair open and straight.
Máxima clearly felt comfortable in her look. Several photos show the 52-year-old with a radiant smile up to her ears. No wonder, because in the past she has relied on the elegant creations of Oscar de la Renta several times. And flowers in all shapes and colors can often be found in Máxima’s outfits.
