De Burgh wrote the music for “Robin Hood – The Musical”. The Irish world star came to the capital for the Berlin premiere – and also enjoys spending his private time in Germany.
The Irish world star Chris de Burgh (“The Lady in Red”) likes to vacation in Germany. “I often went to Baden-Baden with my family to go on holiday,” the 75-year-old told the German Press Agency at the Berlin premiere of “Robin Hood – The Musical”.
“I have seen more of Germany than any German person I have ever met.” A few years ago he invited friends from Ireland to a birthday party in Germany, and together they visited Cologne and Mainz. “We had the best two weeks,” said the Irishman.
De Burgh wrote the music for the musical with composer Dennis Martin about the English hero Robin Hood, who robs the rich and gives his loot to the poor. The modern production of the medieval legend runs until April 20th in the Berlin Admiralspalast. The musical celebrated its world premiere in Fulda in 2022.
