Selma Blair: She performed this performance without a cane

Selma Blair walked a red carpet without any support. Because of her MS, she recently always used a walking stick.

For years she has only been seen at events with a cane, if at all. This was different at the Fashion Trust Awards in Beverly Hills: US actress Selma Blair (51) walked the red carpet without any help.

The actress, who made her multiple sclerosis public in fall 2018, wore a black double-breasted blazer mini dress for the occasion. She showed off her toned legs in the ensemble, which she accessorized with black, beaded strappy heels. She had a puka shell necklace with a large gold pendant around her neck. As an accessory, Selma Blair held a gold box-shaped clutch that matched her outfit in her right hand.

The single mother wore light makeup, highlighting her features with soft blush and light lipstick. Her short, platinum blonde hair was slicked back.

Dog as support

Selma Blair usually uses her cane at public events. In addition, she now also has a dog to support her. As she has already revealed, he is trained to provide her with physical assistance if she suffers a “seizure” due to her illness.

In May 2022, she spoke about Labrador Retriever Scout and explained that she brought him into her life to get a sense of stability. “I’m a single mother and I’m alone with my child a lot, and I wanted some real support,” she said. The “Ice Cold Angels” actress has a son Arthur (13) with her ex-boyfriend, fashion designer Jason Bleick (54).

Blair adopted the Labrador Retriever at the end of 2021 and, “The thing is, I fall over a lot. That’s one reason I have Scout.” Then she was “very disoriented and gone for a while.”

“He’s with me all the time. If I get a big muscle cramp or have trouble moving and need to rebalance myself, he can come between my legs, help me up and balance me,” he explained in the interview. And added: “He gave me a lot of independence.”
