Oti Mabuse became a mother at the end of last year. Now it was time for the first flight with the baby for her sister Motsi Mabuse’s birthday.
The first flight with a baby was obviously a lot of excitement for professional dancer Otlile “Oti” Mabuse (33). The sister of “Let’s Dance” juror Motsi Mabuse (43) became a mother for the first time at the end of last year – now she was planning a trip to Germany for her older sister’s birthday. Oti shared her thoughts and concerns with her followers on Instagram. “Our first flight. In her big girl stroller. Man, this parenthood is a trip,” the 33-year-old wrote .
“I have never held back tears for so long in my life – everything is a first and I want her to feel calm and comfortable. I was so nervous that she would cry, but she is laughing, interested and, most importantly, not at all anxious. We are such happy parents,” Oti shared her emotional state before the flight.
But apparently everything worked out much better than expected. “Wow! So many people ask for tips, but I didn’t do much. I booked the flights according to their sleep schedule,” she reports. Her daughter usually wakes up at five in the morning to be fed. “So I fed her and changed and dressed her while she was awake and put her in the car. She slept until baggage check because we had to change her bed, but she fell right back to sleep.” Her baby only woke up once during the flight.
“Daddy was a rock star too!”
The teamwork with her husband Marius Iepure (41) also worked well, reports Oti. “Daddy was a rock star too! The only difficulty we had was deciding who did what,” said the young mom. “We realized we couldn’t both do everything, so one of us took care of the baby and the other took care of the luggage. It’s much easier to work as a team so she stays calm and we’re on the same page. “
“All in all,” her first flight with a baby was a “great first experience.” However, she was a little nervous before her return trip because she was flying home alone with a child. “Let’s see how it goes,” said Oti Mabuse.
The professional dancer and her husband announced the birth of their child on Christmas Day (December 25) with a sweet snapshot on Instagram. “Merry Christmas. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and special memories with your loved ones,” says a picture in which Mabuse holds their child and Iepure holds the family dog in his arms.
The 33-year-old has not yet announced exactly when the baby was born or what it was called. Oti Mabuse, who has already appeared as a professional dancer on the British dance show “Strictly Come Dancing” and on the German counterpart “Let’s Dance”, has been married to Marius Iepure since 2014. In 2017, the couple announced the end of their dance career together.
