After winning four Academy Awards for “Poor creatures”Searchlight Pictures is pleased to announce that the upcoming feature film Yorgos Lanthimos, “Types of kindness”will have its world premiere at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. In addition, the trailer for the film is now available, which will hit theaters in Latin America in 2024.

“Types of Gentleness” is a triptych fable that follows a choiceless man who tries to take control of his own life; to a police officer who is alarmed because his wife, who disappeared at sea, has returned and looks like a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.

and its relationship with the Cannes Festival

“Types of kindness” It is the fourth film by Yorgos Lanthimos and the screenwriter Efthimis Filippou which competes at the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival. After debuting fifteen years ago in 2009, Lanthimos first attracted international attention with “Fangs”, winner of the Un Certain Regard Award at the 62nd edition of the Cannes International Film Festival. Later, in 2015, she released her first feature film in English, Lobster”. The film won the festival’s Jury Prize. Lanthimos’ last appearance at Cannes was in 2017, where she premiered “The Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer”which won the award for best screenplay.

Along with Lanthimos in Cannes will be the star cast that includes Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, Hunter Schafer and other members of the production team.

The film was produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Kasia Malipan and Yorgos Lanthimos.
