There is hardly a musical genre in which John Cale has not left a profound mark. As a founding member of the legendary rock ‘n’ roll visionaries Velvet Underground, the Welshman revolutionized the music world, later he advanced to the adventurous saint of avant-garde rock with solo records such as “Paris 1919” or “Helen of Troy”. On July 8, 2022, the 79-year-old, who will be celebrating his 80s in March, will be a “replacement” for Dweezil Zappa at the “Clam Rock Festival” presented by OÖNachrichten. Also there on this day on the Meierhofwiese are Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, The Sweet, The Doors Alive and the Upper Austrian local hero Red Machete.
Unfortunately, Foreigner’s clam performance planned for June 12 had to be canceled. For more information on how to return tickets, please contact the respective advance booking offices. (ll)
