ARAUCANA MALBEC 2022 BY BODEGA RIBERA DEL CUARZO
Araucana Malbec 2022.jpg
This blend of 95% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot comes from the Araucana vineyard, 22 years old and 5 hectares in the Blue Valley of Río Negro. It is a unique area, with calcareous soils, cold nights and strong winds that allow us to achieve wines of excellent concentration and marked natural acidity. Araucana Malbec 2022 rested for 12 months in different French oak barrels: 30% new, 30% second use and 40% third use. It is a wine of intense color with blue-violet tones. On the nose, red fruits and notes of wild vegetation from the Blue Valley stand out, combining and integrating with the fine toast of the wood, reminiscent of leather. In the mouth, its marked density, good attack and persistence stand out. Flavors and sensations of good varietal typicity. Remarkable integration between freshness, given its natural acidity, and unctuousness, which result from the concentration of Malbec and its aging in wood.
LUCA OLD VINE MALBEC 2021
LUCA OLD VINE MALBEC.jpg

A 100% Malbec made with grapes from old vineyards of Tupungato, La Consulta and Paraje Altamira, which were specially selected for this wine. It is aged for 12 months in French barrels: 35% first use and 65% second use. It is a great example of Mendoza Malbec, red in color with typical violet hues. On the nose, red and black cherries are perceived amalgamated with spices and notes of chocolate. In the mouth, it has a marked acidity, a medium body, intense flavors of red and black fruits with a background of espresso, and a very persistent finish. He was recognized with 94 points by James Suckling, 94 points by Descorchados, 93 points by Tim Atkin and 92 points by Robert Parker. Ideal to store and taste again in a few years.
ARUMA MALBEC 2022 BY BODEGAS CARO

Bodegas Caro was born in 1999, the product of the merger of the Rothschild and Catena families. The Domaine Barons de Rothschild contributes its precious knowledge in the production of Cabernet Sauvignon in Bordeaux, while the Catena winery provides its expertise in the exploration of Mendoza’s high-altitude terroirs and in the production of excellent quality Malbecs. The year 2022 was dry and calm, and this is evident in a well-varietal wine, which faithfully expresses the characteristics of the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza. Aruma Malbec 2022 is a deep red wine, with aromas of plums and red fruits, a round and fresh mid-palate (with a notable balance between tannins, acidity and alcohol), and a long and delicate finish.

A blend of 95% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot from Vistaflores, in the Uco Valley. Harvested manually, it includes 30% whole bunches that fermented in small concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 12 to 14 months in second to fourth use French oak barrels. Cuchillo de Palo Malbec 2022 presents an intense red color with purple reflections, and a fruity and spicy nose, with notes of raspberries and blueberries that blend with subtle toasted and smoky touches provided by the wood.
LA POSTA PIZZELLA MALBEC 2022
LA POSTA PIZZELLA MALBEC.jpg

It is one of the wines that Laura Catena and Luis Reginato make with grapes from small producers in Mendoza. In this case, it is a 100% Malbec from the Pizzella family vineyard, planted in 1998 in Paraje Altamira, an area distinguished by the presence of rocks covered by calcium carbonate. La Posta Pizzella Malbec matures for 8 months, 50% in stainless steel and 50% in new and used French oak barrels. It has a violet red color; aromas of black cherries, dark chocolate and spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon; a good body and a structure that is supported by a lively freshness. It has 92 points for James Suckling and 90 points for Tim Atkin.
