Nelly and Ashanti have been a couple again since 2023

In September 2023, Nelly confirmed during an appearance on the show that he and Ashanti had rekindled their romance, which began in 2003 and lasted for around ten years. The reconciliation would have surprised them both, he said at the time. “We didn’t plan this. (…) But sometimes when you’re apart, you understand each other better.”

According to them, they had already sparked pregnancy rumors in December 2023 when they celebrated together at the Black and White Ball at the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. When they were on stage together, Ashanti put her hands on her stomach. When Nelly noticed this, he also placed his hands on his partner’s stomach. Then they both burst out laughing, the report says.

The couple first got together in 2003, but separated in 2013 after ten years of relationship. In April 2023, the first speculations about a renewed liaison arose. This is the first child for Ashanti and the third biological child for Nelly. He is also the adoptive father of the two children of his sister Jackie Donahue, who died of leukemia.
