After the heavy rains in Dubai, numerous German influencers from their adopted homeland reported: How Fiona Erdmann, Sarah Harrison and Co. struggled with the floods.
Mass water in the desert: Dubai recorded 142 liters of rain per square meter on Tuesday alone, the heaviest rainfall in the United Arab Emirates in 75 years. In the middle of the chaos there were numerous German influencers who emigrated to the desert state.
Former “Germany’s Next Top Model” participant Fiona Erdmann told how she experienced the floods. Erdmann was traveling in the car when the heavy rain began and was stranded in a photo studio because she simply couldn’t get any further. She stayed there for several hours until she decided to make her way home. A route that would normally take 30 minutes took her several hours.

“If I hadn’t had the big car, I would never have come home,” she says in an Instagram story. What she saw on the streets was heartbreaking. Thousands of people were walking on the highway. She was so happy that she could sleep at home with her children. Apart from a few destroyed plants in her garden, Erdmann’s house was not affected by the floods.

It was different for Sarah Harrison: the pregnant influencer that her garden was under water and a tree completely fell over. The water masses also penetrated into the house and flooded the garage and gym. “I think we have a really big problem. We’ve never experienced anything like that in Dubai,” she said in a story. Other German celebrities were also affected: Carmen Geiss reported a flooded terrace, ex-Bachelor Paul Janke was almost stuck in a shopping center.
The weather in the desert state has now calmed down again and clean-up work has begun.
