The operation Gout de France returns in 2024 to celebrate the french gastronomy through a series of events organized by the French diplomatic network on the five continents.
In this special year of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 2024 edition of Gout de France The theme “Sports and gastronomy” will be highlighted. And in Argentina it will begin with a classic rendez-vous of French gastronomy in Buenos Aires: The French fair – the gastronomic market – organized by Lucullus -the French gastronomic association in Argentina-, which will present more than 200 dishes through 30 participants, among which are bakeries, boulangeries, restaurants and caterers, chocolate shops, cheese shops, specialty coffees, various French culinary specialties, ceramists and even kitchen equipment.
“Large events organized in France are always excellent moments to highlight the French way of life, its gastronomy and how we value local products. This time of year is delicious, the juicy fruits and fresh leafy vegetables are replaced by more intense flavors with their warmer colors, and what better than to start this cycle of activities on a kermesse afternoon – very French foire populaire style -” advance Jean Laurietmember of Lucullus.

9 seasonal products to look for at the French Fair
French gastronomy is considered one of the best in the world. This weekend we recommend three of the favorite French dishes that no one should miss:
1- Pumpkin
The first days of fall are the best days to eat pumpkins. In soups, in quiche, in sweet cakes, in jam, roasted or pureed. This vegetable is very versatile and in France it is eaten both sweet and savory.
2- Mushrooms
A must in any Parisian market in autumn. Mushrooms will be the star of creamy dishes at this time
3- Seasonal fruits: Pear, plums, apples
Fruits that become protagonists of the tables at this time. Starting with the apple, which is the most consumed fruit in France (whether as an appetizer, drink or dessert), there are also pears and plums that are eaten freshly harvested or also as jams or as part of a hot main dish.
4 – Quince
Quince (always cooked) is mainly known for being consumed in jam or compote, but it also goes very well in sweet and sour recipes such as with a duck magret or combined with good cheeses.
5 – Chestnuts
The classic sweet for a Crêpe on the streets of Paris. But chestnut elevates any meat-based dish.
6 – Walnuts
The versatility of the walnut is known. It can be added to salads, it can accompany a good cheese board. But it also goes very well in pastry, in cakes, fondants or jams…
7 – Pistachios
Another dried fruit that stands out and is loved by most French people. In sweet or savory dishes, as a snack, in starters, main courses and desserts, pistachios are gaining more and more prominence.
8- Steaks for stews
Classic dish found in any French restaurant. A slow-cooked meat stew in wine. Fall is the best time to enjoy a boeuf bourguignon!
9- Chocolates
Originally from Mexico but made fashionable in the Palace of Versailles, today Paris has its own “Chocolate Room” and is present in many of its recipes.
