The young Italian who landed in Argentina at the beginning of the eighties, became one of the references of national music after shaking the underground scene with his rebellion, irreverence and spontaneity.
Luca had dreams like anyone else. One of them was to visit the Iguazú Falls, a wish that he fulfilled in 1982 during a reunion between the musician and his two brothers, Andrea and Michela. On that trip, they also made a stop by the Ruins of San Ignacio.
According to the story that the Historic Board of San Ignacio reconstructs:
“It was then December 1982 when the Prodan brothers met again after several years. Michela, Luca and Andrea then decide to take a trip to Cataratas, a destination dreamed of by the Sumo vocalist. Once connected with the magic of nature, the Prodan boys decide to continue their journey through our province while Michela returns prematurely to Buenos Aires. This is how, on board a remis, they begin their tour through the red land. This is how the Prodan came to San Ignacio and the mystique that our Heritage Site contains was able to connect Luca – at that time only 29 years old – with that creative force that was as unique to him as the innate way he had to transcend ”.
In addition, an interview with one of the brothers of the deceased musician was rescued, in which he made mention of said trip.
“Our trip in ’82 was incredible, because I was able to be with my brother again like in the old days. But, in this new place, he already made us host. He already spoke Spanish, and quite well. We went to Iguazú, to the Falls. He had always wanted to meet them and he took us and it was great. My sister paid, who had money at that time, since she worked in cinema and earned well [risas]. So we took advantage of this little trip, which was great, “he said.
And he continued: “I remember that Michela later got tired of us and our jokes and wanted to come back sooner. So Luca and I convinced her to give us money to go back by taxi from the Iguazu Falls to Posadas. Actually, in a remís, with a driver recovered from the place. On this quite surreal trip we went to the ruins of San Ignacio together. And we took some crazy photos there that I still have. And then we flew from Posadas to Buenos Aires. “
