Lena Meyer-Landrut and others collect 133,600 euros for clean drinking water

Successful evening for the aid organization Viva con Agua: the donation marathon with stars like Lena Meyer-Landrut or Bela B raised more than 133,000 euros for clean drinking water – and it could be significantly more.

It was a special evening. And not just because Lena Meyer-Landrut performed a new version of her hit “Strip” live. For the first time, the aid organization Viva con Agua organized a donation marathon and offered a live event. In a five-hour live show on Tuesday evening, artists and prominent personalities such as Bela B, Antje Schomaker, Luisa Neubauer and Fynn Kliemann performed in addition to Lena. The effort has paid off: 133,600 euros have been collected so far, which are to be invested in water projects.

Not only Lena was proud afterwards: “It was my second appearance this year. I was accordingly nervous, but it was very nice and familiar,” said the 2010 ESC winner. “It was also important to me to be here and to raise awareness and donations for clean drinking water. “

Since several sponsors have taken over the costs for the production, all donations and proceeds flow into a project in Uganda, which aims to improve the living conditions of thousands of people sustainably. “It is powerful and touching that so many people come together here who stand up for social justice and declare war on global challenges,” said Luisa Neubauer.

Viva con Agua: The auction runs until January 3rd

The organization Viva con Agua, founded in 2006 by the former soccer professional Benjamin Adrion (including FC St. Pauli), supports projects that enable safe access to drinking water. There is still a major problem: around the world, 771 million people have no access to basic supplies of clean drinking water, and 1.7 billion people lack basic sanitation.

The money raised can help a great many people. And it may be even more: The 133,600 euros are not the final sum. The “Things4Water” auction runs until January 3rd. Anyone who would like to bid for personal items and unique items from prominent supporters can still take part. The offer includes a painting by Stefanie Giesinger, Rezo’s legendary hoodie or a signed jersey by BVB star Julian Brandt. .
