Richard Lugner has been celebrating his participation in the Vienna Opera Ball with a famous accompaniment for more than 30 years. This year he hired Elvis Presley’s widow, Priscilla Presley.
Building contractor Richard Lugner, who has been making headlines for decades with prominent guests at the Vienna Opera Ball, wants to get married for the sixth time. The wedding date with his partner Simone is June 1st, the 91-year-old told the Austrian news agency APA. And: “It’s my last marriage.” He always wanted a long-term relationship.
Lugner – nicknamed Mörtel because he became rich in the construction business – is around 50 years older than his future wife, who, according to Austrian media reports, gave up her job in a hardware and garden center to work for Lugner’s shopping center. The couple were engaged in 2021, but then separated. Simone and he had experienced many happy moments, but they realized that they were too different characters, Lugner said at the time. The separation was not easy for both of them.
The entrepreneur calls his partner Bee. It is known that he also affectionately gave animal names to his former partners, such as Rabbit, Beetle, Bambi, Katzi and Hummingbird.
Lugners has been married five times since 1961. In an interview with the APA, he described his last marriage from 2014, which only lasted two years, as a flop. Apart from his current partner, he only loved two of the women.
