Does Taylor Swift not only sing about her ex-boyfriends Joe Alwyn and musician Matty Healy, but also about Formula 1 star Fernando Alonso? Only the singer knows this for sure, but a line in her song “imgonnagetyouback” from the new album “The Tortured Poets Department” sounds suspiciously like it.
Taylor Swift and Fernando Alonso are fueling the rumor mill
Exactly a year ago, in April 2023, Alonso himself fueled rumors that he was having an affair with Taylor Swift. In a TikTok video – set to Swift’s song “Karma” – the racing driver appeared deeply immersed in his cell phone. Towards the end of the clip, he looked at the camera and winked mischievously. The clip was preceded by headlines about an alleged liaison between the two. So now “imgonnagetyouback” and the telling lyric: “Small talk, big love, act like I don’t care what you did / I’m an that you steered straight into the ditch / Then ran and hid,” Swift sings in it. “I’m a man you steered straight into the ditch / Then I ran and hid” – it’s this line that makes fans sit up and take notice.

Because Fernando Alonso drives races for Aston Martin. The song and the rumors have already been picked up on the company’s TikTok channel. Similar to the clip in April 2023, Alonso can also be seen here scrolling on his tablet; this time the new song “imgonnagetyouback” is playing in the background instead of “Karma”. The Spaniard smiles again at the camera and holds his finger to his mouth, as if he is still keeping the secret.
The affair rumors have not been confirmed either by the song or by Alonso’s TikTok reaction. Only one thing is clear: the Spaniard and his Aston Martin team know how to use hype for social media.
