Victoria Beckham reveals why others perceived her as a ‘grumpy cow’

Victoria Beckham turned 50 last week and, to mark the occasion, looks back on her life so far in an interview.

Victoria Beckham has been in the public eye for around three decades. Her career ranges from a career as a singer, to becoming more famous with football star David Beckham as her husband, to becoming an established fashion designer. But she never took off one trademark, not as a singer, mother or designer: her serious facial expression.

The 50-year-old’s trademark has always been a pout and a serious look. Many people often thought of her as arrogant and arrogant, but a recently released Netflix documentary about her and her family as well as many likeable social media clips show that Victoria Beckham can also laugh.

On the occasion of her 50th birthday and a collaboration with the fashion house Mango, for which the designer designed an affordable collection that will be available from Tuesday, April 23rd, she gave an interview to the British newspaper “The Times”. As she celebrated a milestone birthday, Victoria Beckham looks back on the last few decades and says: “I looked at some pictures of myself recently and was really impressed by how happy I looked.”

Victoria Beckham shares some good advice for getting older

When asked about what it’s like for her to have turned 50, she reacts relaxed and says: “It is what it is” and that she is looking forward to the future. “I always remember how Marc Jacobs told me when he turned 60 that it was better than the alternative of not turning 60. That’s good advice! (…),” reveals the former Spice Girl.

She has a good feeling about the things she’s doing, she says, and it shows. She smiles more. “I used to always look at pictures of myself on the red carpet and see a woman who looked nervous and insecure,” she says about her own perception. But what was worse was that other people didn’t see this insecurity, but rather: “Everyone else saw a woman who looked sullen and stern – I guess that’s why I got the reputation of being such a miserable cow.”

Even at the age of 50, Victoria Beckham says about her work and herself: “I still think it’s important to develop yourself and try new things.”
