The actor of Spider-Man, Tom Holland passed through the Sands International Film Festival (Scotland), which opened with the screening of “Last Call”a short project that he leads together with Lindsay Duncan (Blackbird) and which was co-written and directed by his brother, Harry Holland.
The actor was contacted by Deadline about his career so far and plans for future projects, including whether he will return for a fourth Spider-Man movie.
“The simple answer is that I will always want to make Spider-Man movies,” Tom said. “I owe my life and my career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. “I will always want to do more”.
The “most complicated answer” Tom added is how he and the Spider-Man team approach any continuation of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the third title in his saga.
“We have the best in the business working to achieve any story. But until we achieve it, we have a legacy to protect,” he stated. “The third film was so special in so many ways that we have to make sure we do it right”.
He added: “This is the first time in this process that I am part of the creativity so early. It’s just a process where I observe and learn. It’s just a very fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants this to happen. But we want to make sure we don’t overdo the same things.”
Starring Holland alongside Zendaya, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Spider-Man: No Way Home It premiered in December 2021 and grossed $260 million in its opening weekend, becoming the second-highest opening at the domestic box office. It would eventually surpass the billion-dollar mark and inspire a now-seminal Internet meme.
Other Tom Holland projects outside of Marvel
Holland was last seen on screen in the Apple miniseries The Crowded Room next to Amanda Seyfried, Sasha Lane and Will Chase. The series was created by Akiva Goldsman and inspired by the book The Minds of Billy Milligan. The Spider-Man actor told us that he is now involved in the development of several burgeoning projects.
“We are finding out. “We are in that post-attack stage, so we are waiting for those scripts to arrive,” he said. “We are giving writers the time they need to start working. But I have some projects that I’m really excited about and the scripts are coming in now and they’re great. “The other day I read something that stunned me.”
