Ryan Gosling doesn’t think he’ll ever regret any career move. For the Hollywood star, only family matters.
Ryan Gosling (43) and Eva Mendes (50) are a real Hollywood dream couple. However, the two rarely talk about private matters. The actor, who has been nominated for several Oscars, including for the role of Ken in the hit film “Barbie”, now explains how important his long-term partner and family are to him.
This person believed in him when he himself didn’t
When asked about his personal heroes in a conversation, he also named Mendes and another relative. “Well, Eva, of course. And my Uncle Bill,” explains Gosling. When he was still at school, his uncle told him that he wanted to immortalize all of his successes in an album. “I didn’t want the scrapbook to be empty,” the star recalls. “Uncle Bill believed in me at a time when I didn’t really believe in myself.”
Gosling and Mendes have been a couple since 2011 and have two daughters together. There are apparently no more important people on this planet to him today. Although the actor does not have a motto that guides him, he often thinks about his deathbed. “I often think about what will be important to me on my deathbed, what I did and what I didn’t do. This puts things in perspective. Family always comes first.”
The star believes he won’t have any regrets when it comes to his career, “but I think when it comes to Eva [Mendes] and the girls go, they come first,” he repeats. Maybe it’s not good to always think about his deathbed, but for him it’s helpful. Every time he has problems, he thinks about whether they’re going to help him matter would then be important.
No control over fate
Before the two Hollywood stars got together, Gosling had never thought about having children. The first time he imagined himself in a father’s role was shortly before the birth of his first daughter – when Mendes told him she was pregnant. This is what Gosling said. He would “never” want to return to his old life without his partner and kids. “I’m glad I didn’t have control over my fate in that way because it was so much better than I ever dreamed it would be,” Gosling said.
