Juan Baglietto and his children return with a new version of “The Little Prince”

With Walas (Massacre), Flor Otero, Zaina, Valentina Podio, Carlos March, Roberto Catarineu and the debut of Luis Rodríguez Echeverría in the role of The Little Prince.

Juan Carlos Baglietto together with their sons Julián and Joaquín, they head The little Prince which is a new musical version of the one that Baglietto himself starred in, 20 years ago. The work debuts on June 15 at the opera theater.

After the success achieved by that musical version of The little Prince 20 years ago, which had Juan Carlos Baglietto in the cast, a new version landed on Corrientes Street as a project of Juan along with his children.

This time, through an initiative of Baglietto himself; Juan wanted to act again and at the same time do it with his children, share that project with them. This is how this new version was created, which has Juan in the role of Saint Exupery (the aviator in the story), his son Joaquín (who played him in the Netflix series Love After Love) in the role of the Businessman and his son Julián (who has played in the Baglietto-Vitale band for years) in charge of the composition and musical direction of the entire work.

What is the new version of The Little Prince like?

This project, now familiar, proposes a version of the classic that navigates contemporary shores, from the musical and the performative: Walasthe leader of Massacre, will step into the shoes of the character of the King, being his first foray into a theater musical. The rapper Zainaone of the last figures to emerge from the freestyle battles, plays Vain while contributing a song of his own to the work’s repertoire, in a joint work with Julian Baglietto.

Flor Otero, who had been part of the cast in that version two decades ago, will now play the character of the Serpent. The Little Prince will be played by the young man Luis Rodríguez Echeverríataking on his first leading role in a character for which he seems to have been born.

The cast is completed with the young Valentina Podium in the role of the Flower, Carlos Merch like the Drinker and Roberto Catarineu like the fox.

The direction is in charge of Eduardo Gondell, who directed the musical in its previous version and who has won awards such as the Goya, the Estrella de Mar, the Florencio Sánchez and the Platinum Award throughout his career.

This new version of The Little Prince will have a staging that includes a 14-meter-long Ultra HD LED screen, never before mounted for a show at the Opera.

The costumes and characterization of the characters reflect meticulous, high-level work that accompanies the updated imprint of the entire project.

The work is a co-production by José Luis Massa, owner and founder of Club Media, Aleph Media, by Fernando Soko, and Carlos Mentasti. The companies Axion and Allianz have been the first strategic partners of the project.
