Matthias Opdenhövel (53) remains with ProSiebenSat.1. The presenter has extended his exclusive contract “by several years,” the company announced. It was not announced for exactly how long the 53-year-old signed.
Henrik Pabst, Chief Content Officer responsible for all content on Joyn, ProSieben and Sat.1, explained in the contract extension announcement: “What can’t this man actually do? Big shows, sports, quizzes and football – Matthias Opdenhövel is for our viewers and viewers an important confidant whom they would be happy to invite into their living rooms or on their smartphones. We are looking forward to several more years with Matthias Opdenhövel.”
Possibilities are “opdi-mal”
The moderator himself is “very much looking forward to continuing our good collaboration. The diversity and opportunities that the group’s different platforms offer are simply: great,” said the TV star.
Opdenhövel will continue to moderate various large programs for the broadcasting group. He has been on the ProSieben show “The Masked Singer” since 2019. Matthias Opdenhövel is celebrating a comeback on “Schlag den Star”, also on ProSieben: from June onwards, after his colleague Elton (53) left, he will once again be moderating the show, which he hosted in 2010.
Matthias Opdenhövel provides music on Sat.1
Matthias Opdenhövel, who also recently appeared in “The Floor”, also presents the Sat.1 music show “The Tribute” and a new edition of the music advice show “Hast du Töpfen?”. He also continues to accompany all high-class football games for “#ranFussball”.
Since September 2021, the presenter has also been leading the infotainment format “Zervakis & Opdenhövel. Live” with Linda Zervakis (48). In November 2023, however, ProSieben announced the end of the show.
