Til Schweiger fights against Jan Böhmermann and Oliver Pocher

Til Schweiger has a problem with Jan Böhmermann and Oliver Pocher. And makes no secret of it in a new interview.

They are among the most popular TV personalities in Germany – even if their content and humor are very different. Jan Böhmermann and Oliver Pocher are an integral part of television. However, if Til Schweiger had something to decide, the two would probably no longer take place.

In an interview with “Zeit”, Schweiger vents his displeasure with Böhmermann and Pocher. He “really has a good sense of humor” when it comes to his own mistakes, said Schweiger. “In contrast to people like Jan Böhmermann or Oliver Pocher, I despise them because they always laugh at other people’s expense,” he explains. As a satirist, Böhmermann is known for regularly tackling social issues and does not shy away from pillorying individuals for their wrongdoing.

In 2002, he exposed influencer Fynn Kliemann’s unfair mask deals on his show “ZDF Magazin Royale”. Kliemann was then forced to explain and apologize.

Oliver Pocher takes a different approach. He usually uses his Instagram appearance and his stage show to fight against celebrities and influencers. For Schweiger, the two are cut from the same cloth.

Especially if it were against them for a change. Then “they make a nonsense and immediately come around the corner with a lawyer. Bah!” says Schweiger. “For me, Böhmermann is the greatest emetic in the German media landscape,” says the filmmaker.

In an interview with “Zeit,” Schweiger also speaks out against allegations against him that employees made after filming “Manta Manta, Second Part.” He confirms that he hit a colleague in the face on set. “You don’t touch someone’s face. Especially not if you like them so much,” Schweiger explains ruefully. The colleague accepted his apology and forgave him.
