Til Schweiger dealt against Oliver Pocher and Jan Böhmermann. The two reacted to the actor’s clear words.
In an interview with the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit”, actor and filmmaker Til Schweiger (60) dealt against two German celebrities. He made it clear that he didn’t like ZDF presenter Jan Böhmermann (43) and comedian Oliver Pocher (46) at all. The two television stars have now responded to the 60-year-old’s angry speech via social media.
Schweiger explained in the interview that he despised the two of them “because they always laugh at other people’s expense.” In addition, both would love to dish it out, but couldn’t take it at all: “If a joke happens to be at their expense, they make a lie and immediately come around the corner with a lawyer.” For him, Böhmermann is “the greatest emetic in the German media landscape” and Schweiger has even harbored violent fantasies against the satirist: “If I meet him, I once swore, he’ll get a big beating.” Then he actually spotted Böhmermann in a Lufthansa lounge and saw him “burying himself behind the ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’, but kept blinking past it in my direction. Thank God I don’t have the devil in my head “I listened to the little angel and spared him.”
Jan Böhmermann: “I never met Til Schweiger”
Satirist Böhmermann published a “counterstatement” in an Instagram story and explained the alleged encounter smugly: “I have never met Til Schweiger in a Lufthansa lounge. I have never read the ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’ either.” What actually happened once, as he told years ago in his podcast “Fest & Fluschig”, was the following: “I once sat behind Til Schweiger in economy class on a Eurowings flight to Berlin, he in the front in business.” However, Böhmermann only saw him when he got out, “because I left the plane (before him).”
He thinks it’s unlikely that Til Schweiger discovered him because he was “very upset and angry because he had been trying in vain to unbuckle his seatbelt for several minutes.” Böhmermann jokingly remarked: “I don’t know exactly whether there were six or seven empty 0.2 white wine bottles on the free business class seat next to Til Schweiger.” In another ironic story, he added in Schweiger style: “If one day I meet ‘Zeit’ editor-in-chief Giovanni di Lorenzo in person somewhere, then I’ll punch him in the face. I’ve sworn that to myself. […] He gets a bell from me.” He wrote emphatically about his statement: “I am a peace-loving person!”
Comedian Oliver Pocher also responded to Schweiger’s criticism in an Instagram story. He wrote briefly and succinctly about a picture of the two of them together at an event: “I like Til Schweiger.” He also added some kiss emojis.
