Prince William has long been an advocate for the issue of mental health. A letter from a twelve-year-old made him aware of a special project.
A few months ago, Freddie Hadley wrote a letter inviting the heir to the British throne, Prince William, to a project on mental health for boys at his school. Now the 41-year-old has accepted the invitation – a little late – and found out about the initiative at the school in Sandwell, central England.
“It all started with a letter…” said Kensington Palace on X (formerly Twitter). “It’s great to see this inspiring mental health project in action.”
Twelve-year-old Freddie created “Am I manly enough” with other students. In his handwritten letter to William, Freddie stressed that the group wanted to break the stereotype that “girls cry and boys get angry” and invited William to a performance at the school to mark Mental Health Day.
In a post to X, the older son of King Charles III reported. to speak soon afterwards. Unfortunately, he couldn’t be there, but he thinks it’s “so important to address mental health issues and stigmatization head-on. Please continue with this important work,” he wrote. Now William caught up with the meeting.
