Prince George is celebrating his 8th birthday today. A first birthday portrait was published on his parents’ Instagram account.
Prince George can look forward to a special day: The eldest offspring of Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (39) will be eight years old on July 22nd. His parents published a new portrait of the young royal on the eve of his special day. In blue shorts and a striped polo shirt, the brother of Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3) sat on the bonnet of an off-road vehicle.

In the background you can see fields and a wooded area. Prince George looks into the camera with a beaming smile. The motif of the off-road vehicle could also be seen as an homage to his late grandfather Prince Philip (1921-2021), as the Prince Consort liked to show himself in a Land Rover and even his coffin was driven to his resting place with this model.
The photo of the birthday child is said to have been taken near the family estate Amner Hall in Norfolk. Apparently the parents themselves can hardly believe that their son is already eight years old. The comment on the photo says: “He will be 8 tomorrow (!)”
