Oliver Pocher: Stranded after nightmare flight

His flight to Miami had to turn back in the middle of the Atlantic. But that wasn’t it for Oliver Pocher’s frustration with flying.

“If your flight flies back again after 3 hours because of a technical error… But first you let kerosene into the North Sea again”: his frustration over a failed flight to Miami. His three children, whom he has with his ex-wife Sandy Meyer-Wölden (41), live there. The comedian wanted to fly from Frankfurt to Florida on Saturday, but it was over again in the middle of the Atlantic. The plane had to turn back, as Pocher made clear with an animated map on which he had drawn the route.

The reason for the reversal was a “suspected technical irregularity on one of the rudders.” . “The aircraft landed normally and was then thoroughly checked by technicians,” said a company spokesman. Safety on board was never endangered. “We regret the inconvenience caused, the safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority at all times.”

“Traveling in 2024”

After Oliver Pocher had to get off in Frankfurt like the other 400 passengers, he tried again the next day. But on Sunday (April 28) there were problems again. “Surprise, surprise, the next flight is delayed again,” said the comedian in a video on his Instagram story. “Traveling in 2024,” he wrote sarcastically under the clip.

What was particularly annoying for the comedian was that he actually wanted to go to a Miami Heat basketball game in Miami with his children. “But it doesn’t matter, you’ll get the tickets thrown after you. It doesn’t cost any money,” said Pocher full of irony. At least he could pass on the cards and make someone else happy.
