Beyoncé has made it into a French dictionary. The lexicon will soon list the American musician under her name.
Beyoncé (42) makes history in France: the singer’s name is included in the Larousse dictionary. That reports, among other things
Beyoncé is one of 40 personalities included in the updated new edition of the encyclopedic dictionary. Her name is listed as a noun, her entry reads: “American R&B and pop singer.”
The total of 150 new names and words chosen by a jury each year must “reflect concerns, developments or strong movements that year,” the director told The Times. The chosen people must also fit the values of Petit Larousse – “excellence and promotion of French culture”, it continues.
Cate Blanchett and Christopher Nolan are also there
Other people to whom these requirements apparently apply this year include actress Cate Blanchett (54), NBA player LeBron James (39) and “Oppenheimer” director Christopher Nolan (53).
