Bachelor party too expensive – this is how you can keep the costs under control

Nowadays, a bachelor party often involves going to activities from morning to evening or even to another city. This costs a lot of money for the guests. How to approach the whole thing economically.

Financial disaster usually begins with a Whatsapp group. Suddenly you find yourself in a group, often with five to twenty mostly strangers, croaking wildly. If you don’t mute this noise, it’s your own fault. The subject is often something like “Susi’s JGA” and then five to twenty people try to plan a bachelorette party for a mutual friend.

This process is probably a little more pragmatic for men, but for women the ladies compete to see who is closest to the bride-to-be, has better ideas for how to spend the day and which project is the most innovative. It is not uncommon that it starts with breakfast in the morning and that three to five different events are planned for the day, from pottery to pedal boating to eating out and then to a discotheque or bar. Cost? Easily 200 euros for one day.

But it gets even wilder. Many women now want a whole weekend bachelorette party. This means that the whole group from different circles of friends, who often only know each other through hearsay, should get on a plane to Mallorca, for example. Then you not only have to pay the flight costs, but also costs for accommodation, several meals, activities and of course nice gestures and games for the bride-to-be.

When planning a bachelor party, sensitivity is required

Sometimes it’s even more absurd, where the bride says what she would like to do and you are basically forced to spend a huge amount of money to take part. A stalemate, because women in particular are usually sensitive when it comes to cancellations at their bachelorette party or wedding.

The portal “Bachelor Party Ideas” says that the costs are usually at least 200 euros per day. A weekend trip starts at 500 euros and there are no upper limits. In most cases, however, there is also a share for the bachelor. This person is usually invited by the group of friends to his or her bachelor party.

In order not to plan completely outside the budget of the participants, the portal “Weddyplace” recommends: “Create a Doodle survey in which each person anonymously selects a price range or a maximum budget. Depending on this, you can plan further steps.”

You can save money by:

  • Search for locations nearby
  • Come up with your own games in the park instead of resorting to expensive alternatives like an escape room
  • Instead of going to a restaurant, create a buffet yourself and everyone brings something with them
  • Simply make funny, printed shirts yourself with the iron
  • Having a garden party
  • Do a scavenger hunt

But the most important thing is to address the budget openly and honestly in the WhatsApp group in question right at the beginning and perhaps use the suggestion with a Doodle survey. This way you avoid heated discussions about expensive activities.
