In a good mood despite cancer: King Charles at the “Royal Windsor Horse Show”

King Charles III has cancer. A message that the 75-year-old made public at the beginning of the year. During a prostate operation, doctors apparently found tissue that had degenerated. The monarch did not inform the public about exactly where and what form of cancer he had.

The palace also announced that the monarch would be taking a step back due to a strenuous and exhausting treatment for cancer. But the king did not miss one or two obligations. Just a few days ago he visited a cancer center, and before that he was seen for the first time after his illness was announced at the Easter service at Windsor Castle.

Now King Charles made his third public appearance on Friday with the awareness of the insidious disease, but he didn’t let it dampen his good mood. At the “Royal Windsor Horse Show”, which has taken place annually since 1943, the king appeared in a good mood. He chatted freely with jockeys and joked with his niece Zara Tindall, the daughter of his sister Princess Anne, who also hugged her uncle warmly and with a smile on her face.

King Charles cried with laughter at the horse show

On Friday, his brother, Prince Edward, his wife Sophie, and his sister, Princess Anne, and her husband Timothy Laurence also attended the show as guests. They all had a great time, and the king especially had their horses running wild. He even cried with laughter in the stands.

The “Royal Windsor Horse Show” takes place every year for five days in a row. This year, the top-class equestrian competition will take place in Berkshire from May 1st to 5th, 2024 in the areas of jumping, dressage, driving and endurance riding as well as over 120 show classes.
