Since the Corona pandemic, video telephony has become very commonplace. A man who has a familiar voice doesn’t like that at all.
The moderator and new German ESC commentator Thorsten Schorn has little interest in video telephony. “I really like working with just my voice. I’m also not a fan of video telephony, which really came into being with Corona,” the 48-year-old told the German Press Agency. For conferences with several people – that’s okay. “But why do you need a video if you want to talk to two people? It’s enough for me to just make a phone call,” said Schorn. “I would also describe myself as a landline fetishist, at least that’s what I still like to use.”
The Cologne presenter, who became known, among other things, as a reporter on “stern TV” (RTL) and as the voice of the Vox styling show “Shopping Queen”, is commenting on the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) for the German audience for the first time this year. He succeeds long-time commentator Peter Urban.
