Tennis stars Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are no longer a couple. The Spaniard announced this.
They were one of the dream couples in the tennis scene, but now everything is over for the tennis professionals Stefanos Tsitsipas (25) and Paula Badosa (26). The Spaniard announced her separation from the Greek on her Instagram page – after almost a year.
She speaks of an amicable separation
Paula Badosa released a statement on May 5th. It said: “After careful consideration and many beautiful moments together, Stefanos and I have decided to part ways amicably.” She continued: “We have shared a journey full of love and learning and as friends with great mutual respect, we now decide to go our separate ways.”
The Spaniard then added: “We are grateful for the support of our friends, family and everyone who has been part of our journey. As we enter this new chapter of our lives, we wish each other nothing but the best. We ask you, accept our privacy during this time and thank you for your understanding.” Stefanos Tsitsipas, however, has not yet made a statement about this.
He gushed that they were kindred spirits
The couple made their love public in June 2023. However, Tsitsipas revealed in an interview that she had impressed him much earlier – on the screen: he first noticed her during the TV broadcast of the Australian Open 2020. “It’s not often that I see someone on TV and like her energy so much without ever having met her. Then in Rome I wrote her a message.” Almost a year ago, he emphasized to “Bild” how connected the two feel: “We are a couple. But not only. We are soulmates.” He has met many women, but he has “never felt so attracted and found so much beauty and been interested in a woman.”
During the relationship, Badosa was injured for a long time, but supported her partner and accompanied him to many games. Last fall, just a few months after the relationship was announced, there were first rumors of a separation. All posts on her Instagram page “Tsitsidosa” had been deleted. Afterwards, the tennis stars were seen together again at tournaments.
