No appointment with his sick father: Prince Harry flies to London, but does not meet his father.
Prince Harry has landed in London for a short visit – a meeting with father King Charles III. but is not planned. A meeting was “unfortunately not possible due to His Majesty’s busy schedule,” the German Press Agency learned from those close to the Duke of Sussex, which is Harry’s official title.
“The Duke is of course understanding of his father’s busy schedule and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.” Harry landed in the British capital on Tuesday, as ITV’s Royals reporter Chris Ship wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
This Wednesday, the 39-year-old wants to take part in a thanksgiving service for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games in Westminster Abbey. In 2014, Harry launched the competitions for disabled soldiers, which took place in Düsseldorf in 2023. Harry’s wife Duchess Meghan (42) and their children Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (2) did not travel with him.
There had long been speculation about a meeting between Charles and his younger son, who has lived with his family in the USA for years. Harry last traveled to the UK in February after Charles made his cancer diagnosis public. According to media reports, the meeting lasted a maximum of 45 minutes. The relationship is considered seriously damaged. The reason is public accusations from Harry and Meghan against Charles (75), his wife Queen Camilla (76) and the palace. Harry is said to have had a complete falling out with brother Prince William (41).
