Fantastic trip in a four-handed art exhibition

Until June 2, “Contrapunto” is exhibited in the Fine Arts Pavilion of the UCA (Alicia Moreau de Justo 1300)an exhibition that presents the work of Maggie de Koenigsberg and Duilio Pierri. These two creators, whose artistic and life paths have been intertwined for years, offer a visual dialogue curated by Eduardo Stupia.

“‘Counterpoint’ goes beyond being a simple exhibition; it represents a harmonious contrast between two unique perspectives that invite the viewer to explore the connections and divergences between the works of these prominent contemporary artists”highlights Stupia.

The curator adds: “Rather, with greater or lesser consonances or dissonances, what is imposed in this intersection of aesthetics are the ramifications of a powerful energetic tension, the impulsive fruition of the idea made matter and action, and a joyous attitude of audacity and risk”.

The world of Maggie from Koenigsberg is about giant flowers and natural scenes amazing and disturbing. His paintings feature trees with dry branches, weeds growing wild, and colorful backgrounds that highlight nature’s vibrant color palette.

According to Cecilia Cavanagh, director of the UCA Fine Arts Pavilion: “Suggestive by the freshness that Maggie’s flowers and plants exhale, they are at the same time instigating by the vibrant colors and audacity that they emit from their enormity, stimulated by the energy that they radiate and the vitality that they launch in their forms, disturbing with its extravagance to the viewer”.

Cavanagh adds: “Flowers that we perceive as strange, but that surely live in the garden of your house, or were part of so many landscapes excursions through mountains, forests, pampas, and towns that can only be reached by dirt roads. Grasslands, weeds, branches and stems reinforce the presence of nature in Koenigsberg’s work.”

His counterpart, Duilio Pierri, gives an account of a territory of strength and intense narratives. Through a palette of vibrant colors, Pierri He delimits the contours of his characters with strong linear strokes, representing battles and chaotic scenes that awaken the imagination.

In “The Uturuncos”the artist alludes to Facundo Quiroga, the Tiger of the Plains, in combat alongside a legion of warriors covered in jaguar masks. The four-handed works, in which both artists collaborate, fuse the expressionism of Maggie from Koenigsberg and the fauvism of Duilio Pierri, creating fantastic landscapes that refer to the climate crisis and global warming.

Cavanagh continues to develop the theme by pointing out how the four-handed works, created by both artists on the same canvases, make up an amalgam of provocative and provocative expressionism. “Maggie’s fantasy landscapes are intertwined with Duilio’s fauvism. These works invite deep reflection on the climate crisis and global warming.”

For Stupía “the stylistic and formal differences that can be clearly seen between the two are not so many or so categorical as to hide their resonances and affinities. This idea invites us to immerse ourselves in the complexity of the exhibition, where the interaction between the works of Maggie and Duilio reveals a network of connections and contrasts that enrich the artistic experience.”

Maggie from Koenigsberg He has developed an outstanding artistic career both in Argentina and abroad. She has participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions, standing out for her focus on nature.

Duilio Pierri He was trained, among other teachers, with Kenneth Kemble. He has participated in numerous exhibitions both in the country and abroad.
