The Munich premiere of “A Little Peace” took place on Thursday without Heinz Hoenig. Ralph Siegel sent him a greeting.
Heinz Hoenig (72) would actually have been on stage on Thursday evening (May 9th) for the musical “A Little Peace” in Munich. But the actor is seriously ill, needs surgery and is in the hospital. His wife Annika Hoenig (39), who was supposed to be on stage next to her husband, is also not there. The musical premiere at the German Theater in Munich still took place in the evening.
Ralph Siegel: “We are thinking of Heinz Hoenig”
Among those present were Simone Ballack (48), who plays a small supporting role in “A Little Peace” and stood in for Hoenig’s wife, and of course composer Ralph Siegel (78), who wrote the musical. The latter sent a greeting to the sick Heinz Hoenig at the premiere celebration: “We are thinking of Heinz Hoenig, we wish him all the best,” . “We wish him that he gets better soon and that he has a long life.”
Siegel also told the German Press Agency: “We are incredibly sorry for the situation, it is of course a drama for him.” The situation makes him very worried, one can only hope and pray, added Siegel.
Siegel’s management Siegelring had explained in advance of the premiere when asked by the news agency spot on news that the musical would take place as planned “despite these sad circumstances” and that the renowned musical actor Alexander Kerbst would take over Hoenig’s role as Walter Krause.
Heinz Hoenig is seriously ill
Heinz Hoenig was transported to the hospital by helicopter on April 30 and underwent emergency heart surgery. A stent was inserted into him. The 72-year-old now urgently needs a new aorta and also has to undergo surgery to remove a hole in his esophagus.
Siegel’s musical “A Bit of Peace – Summer of Love”, which is based on his Eurovision hit of the same name from 1982, tells the story of the musician Nina (played by Jennifer Siemann, 33), who discovers the secret of a long-hidden love between an East German rock musician and is on the trail of a West German hippie girl. The musical can be seen at the Deutsches Theater in Munich until May 19th.
