Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will be in Africa for three days. To be precise, in Nigeria, where Meghan’s roots also lie. The glamor couple has a tight schedule for the next few days.
Since moving to California four years ago, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have not gone on a PR tour like the current one in Nigeria. The couple was only seen together at the Invictus Games themselves and at royal events, such as the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
In Nigeria, the two are now embarking on a tour for good causes and to talk about the Invictus Games. Duchess Meghan announced in her podcast “Archetypes” in 2022 that she herself has 43 percent Nigerian roots. She probably found this out through a DNA test. After this realization, she paid a very special visit to the Nigerian team at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf in 2023 and was given the name Amira Ngozi Lolo by the players, which has a special royal meaning. Amira means warrior princess and comes from a legend, Ngozi means blessed and Lolo means royal wife.

While Prince Harry has been in London for the past few days, Meghan arrived there on Thursday. Both met in the VIP Windsor Suite at London Heathrow Airport and flew on to Nigeria together. Today, in the early hours of the morning, around five o’clock, they arrived at the airport in Abuja.
Although they were flying scheduled flights to Nigeria with British Airways, according to the Daily Mail news magazine, they were sitting in first class on the Boeing 777 and were separated from other passengers by a curtain. There was also an extra sausage for Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry when they left the plane. They left the plane first with security personnel while the passengers had to wait.
People magazine published the couple’s timeline for the next three days until they are scheduled to travel home on Sunday. After their arrival, they went to the hotel so that the couple could find a moment of peace and relaxation. According to the Daily Mail, they will stay at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, where the presidential suite costs £600 a night. Set in picturesque landscaped gardens in the heart of Nigeria’s capital, the hotel features a restaurant, pool and spa.

Friday, May 10th
After a short rest, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan visit the Lightway Academy, a school, followed by a meeting with the Chief of Staff, General Christopher Musa, of the Nigerian Defense Force. At the end of the day they are supposed to go to a military hospital in Kaduna to talk to wounded soldiers there.
Saturday, May 11th
On Saturday, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will attend an event hosted by Nigeria Unconquered, a charity that works with the Invictus Games. They will then appear at a reception hosted by the Chief of Defense Staff, which will also honor the country’s military families. Meghan will then attend an event without her husband, where she will be joined by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization, moderated a discussion on the topic of “Women in Leadership Positions”.
Sunday, May 12th
Meghan and Harry are scheduled to continue their trip in Lagos next Sunday. They will attend a basketball camp run by the Giants of Africa charity, followed by a cultural reception and finally the couple will be involved in a polo fundraiser for Nigeria Unconquered.
It is said that the Duchess in particular is very happy about this trip to “explore her Nigerian heritage”.
