Robin Gosens in private: in a relationship for eight years, recently engaged

With his performance in the European Championship game against Portugal, Robin Gosens became the man of the hour. The footballer is also doing well in his private life: he is planning a wedding with his long-time girlfriend.

He was the surprising star on the pitch at the European Championship match between Germany and Portugal at the weekend: Robin Gosens impressed with his footballing performance, prepared two goals and then scored one more himself. Professionally, things are going very well for the 26-year-old, who graduated from high school and originally wanted to join the police – until he succeeded in his career as a professional footballer. And Gosens is also happy privately.

He lives with his long-time partner Rabea Böhlke in Bergamo, Italy, where he plays for the Atalanta Bergamo club. Böhlke therefore emigrated with him to Italy, where she works as a physiotherapist. “I owe everything to Rabea. I take off all my hats to her. I’m as inflexible as possible, so she has to do whatever I want or where my path leads. She has given up a lot for me,” enthuses Gosens.

The two also show that they are deeply in love on Instagram, repeatedly posting pictures of couples and making declarations of love for each other. Most recently, Gosens wrote under a photo that shows the two of them beaming happily. “Eight years with you. Ti Amo”. The couple also keeps showing photos of their dog, Malou.

Gosens comes from Emmerich am Rhein in North Rhine-Westphalia and grew up there in the Elten district on the Dutch border. And apparently Rabea Böhlke also comes from the area, as Gosens mentioned in May. “We still have a huge connection with Emmerich and Elten. Most of my friends still live here or in the vicinity. My entire family and also the family of my fiancées live there. Accordingly, it will always be my home.”, Gosens said when he A little word also revealed something else: The couple are engaged and apparently want to get married, but when and where the wedding is planned is not known.

Gosens has a German mother and a Dutch father and played football in the Netherlands at an early age. This is one of the reasons why he has not been on the radar of German football fans for a long time: The midfielder has not played a single Bundesliga game and instead played for Dutch first division clubs. In addition to German, he also has Dutch citizenship. But he turned down an offer to play for the Oranje team. Instead, Jogi Löw brought him to the German national team in 2020. A stroke of luck, as the EM game on the weekend proved.
