The actress, whose daughters are 18 and 20, will soon have to get used to a new life as the younger ones move out. She’s still confused about the idea.
According to US actress Brooke Shields, she is not yet ready for her younger daughter to move out and therefore a daily life without her children. “The thought of no longer living in the house 24/7 with these people that I raised is just very foreign,” said the 58-year-old, who has two daughters aged 60 with her husband Chris Henchy (60). 18 and 20 years old, the US magazine “People”.
The fact that the younger one will also be leaving the house for college in September feels like “like I’m going into a completely foreign area,” said Shields. “I thought I would be relieved, but I don’t know.”
Shields, who was seen in the film “The Blue Lagoon”, believes that as a parent you never leave your worries about your children. “With every step you think it will be a relief. And then a whole new set of worries slaps you in the face.”
People would say, for example, that it’s great once children can walk and you don’t have to carry them anymore, explained Shields. “Then they run around everywhere and you worry about them falling down the stairs, into the pool or onto the street.”
