BAFTA make up for failure

“It’s nice to see Matthew Perry included in the In Memoriam section after he wasn’t featured in the film edition,” writes one user. He was alluding to the BAFTA film award ceremony. At the gala in February of this year, Perry was not part of the remembrance segment.

Many viewers thought it was unforgivable. After all, Matthew Perry didn’t just make a name for himself with the series role of Chandler Bing in “Friends.” The actor also appeared in many films, for example in “No Half Measures” with Bruce Willis (69) or “17 Again” with Zac Efron (36).

After criticism of the omission was raised, BAFTA officials promised to honor Matthew Perry at the TV Awards. They have now complied with this.

Matthew Perry was found lifeless in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. He died from “acute effects of ketamine,” according to the autopsy report. Ultimately he drowned. The actor was also diagnosed with coronary heart disease. Traces of buprenorphine, a powerful painkiller from the opioid group, were found in his blood.
