For three days, the Sussexes traveled across Nigeria to support Harry’s Invictus Games, a sporting event he created for wounded military veterans.
On Friday, the Sussexes arrived in Abuja to begin a 72-hour tour of the country after flying together to a secret meeting in London. On the third day of their tour, Harry and Meghan were greeted in Lagos by Nigerian dignitaries and a dance performance. The Duchess wore a hand-woven skirt that had been gifted to her at a lavish lunch in Abuja the day before.
The Sussexes attended a basketball camp organized by the Giant of Africa Foundation at Ilupeju Grammar School on Sunday. Of course, Prince Harry didn’t miss the opportunity to take the ball into his own hands and shoot a few baskets with the kids. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were also the guests of honor at the home of the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The glamor couple presented themselves always in the middle of things, without fear of contact and in a good mood. Both were also seen holding hands and being close on the pitch at a charity polo tournament.
Duchess Meghan loves being a mother
During her two-day stay in the capital on Friday and Saturday, Meghan spoke about fulfilling her dream of becoming a mother and talked about her “very talkative, sweet children” Archie, five, and Lilibet, two.
At an event called “Women in Leadership” that she held together with Dr. Hosted by World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Meghan stressed her love of motherhood on Saturday, but acknowledged that balancing work and family life brings with it some challenges. When asked how she balances motherhood with her career, she replied, “I love being a mother.”
