Despite this positive news, Hoenig is still in a sensitive phase, explained his manager Birgit Fischer-Höper. His wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39), who only posted on Instagram yesterday after the procedure, was at his side as planned when the actor woke up.
Yesterday the 39-year-old said that her husband had not yet woken up from the anesthesia. But she “longs for the moment to be able to look into his blue eyes again.”

About a week ago, Kärsten-Hoenig discovered that a bacterial infection had spread to Hoenig’s entire aorta. A stent that was inserted into the actor in 2012 was damaged. A new stent was then inserted. To make matters worse, a hole was discovered in his esophagus. After a few days, doctors brought him out of an induced coma so that he could make his own decision about what to do next.
Hoenig decided on the operations, the first of which has now been completed. The star will only be able to undergo surgery on the aorta after he has sufficiently recovered from the first serious procedure.
