This is precisely the case of “Bodkin“, a dark comedy thriller that follows a group of podcasters who investigate the mysterious disappearance of three individuals in a small Irish town.
Created by the British writer Jez Scharf, the series fuses elements of Irish culture, investigative journalism and caustic humor in seven episodes that premiered on the platform on May 9. Produced by Higher Ground Productions In collaboration with Wild Atlantic Pictures and Wiip Studios“Bodkin” represents a joint effort of Barack and Michelle Obama to promote stories that not only entertain, but are also thought-provoking.

“A group of enthusiasts podcasts embarks on an investigation into the disappearance of three individuals in a picturesque Irish coastal town. However, as they delve deeper, they discover a plot much more intricate and mysterious than they expected,” says the official synopsis.
The idea for the series arose from the fascination of Jez Scharf for true crime podcasts and documentaries. According to Tonia Davisexecutive producer, is a “thriller with dark comedy overtones that challenges truth, narrative and their very purpose.”
“Bodkin” promises to be a journey full of enigmas, dark humor and philosophical reflections on truth and narrative, all while exploring the stories we construct to justify our beliefs and fears.
